Puts forward David Cobb's name for the position, claiming "he expects it." Says Cobb's situation is disagreeable with a family of 11 children and no employment. Notes much depends on the information being sent by Phineas Bruce.

States the amount recovered from the estate of Samuel Waldo in the Court of Common Pleas in Suffolk County was 4,125 pounds, 1 shilling, and 4 pence. That amount is supposed to go to Sarah Waldo of Boston "as she is Administratrix of the Goods & Estate of Samuel Waldo late of Falmouth." Contains wax seal on recto, covered by a square of paper.

Title: A short description of the lands between the rivers Penobscott and Schoodie in the District of Maine

Appears to be a copy of the description of lands in Maine sent to Henry Jackson and Royal Flint. There is also a secretarial signature of Bruce on page four. Claims it is less mountainous than most of Massachusetts. Describes fine fresh meadows and a number of small lakes, rivers, ponds, and swamps. As you get further from coast the rivers and swamps get larger in number and size. This disqualifies the land for settlement, especially since the land is barren and only producing pitch pine hemlock and shrubs. Sidney Diamond (1922-1945) enlisted in mid-April 1942, interrupting the chemical engineering degree that he was undertaking at City College. Diamond was sent to the South Pacific in June 1943, where he served as First Lieutenant to the Eighty-Second Chemical Battalion. On January 29th 1945, Diamond was killed by a Japanese knee mortar while acting as a forward observer during an assault on Fort Stotsenburg, north of Manila. Apparently a bled-through copy of GLC02437.07203. Knox acknowledges that he "received your note respecting Francis Flucker and the explanations of his conduct by McEllery." Knox believes that Francis must change his behavior sincerely, but as for now he had "no moral sense: wrong and right are the same to him." He has run away from school, and until he gets his act together, Knox insists that Knox is not "responsible either for his conduct or expences."

Jackson requests that Knox attest that Jackson in the winter of 1792-1793 "went to New York at the joint instance of Mr. Bingham and yourself and negociated the transfer of Mr. Duer's right to preemtion of said lands." The lands were those purchased in Maine. Jackson then "accompanied Mr. Bringham to Boston and assisted him to transact the business of the said concern with the Committee of the Commonwealth, it was not your meaning that those service were to be compensated by an allowance of the residuary profits on the proportion of One hundred thousand acres of said lands."
