He comments that Leonard has bad luck with girlfriends, but one will "break down and marry you." He comments on the weather, writing that one day is freezing, and the next day is warm. He says Bobby and he split after a fight on Sunday. He saw Nancy Greenwald and Janet Hall and they both asked about Leonard. He inquired about school and how hard Leonard has to study. If they are physically fit they are being sent to the Army and Navy. He asks how Leonard and Joyce are, and mentions that he has broken up with Bobbie. He is now dating Helen Peters. He will tell Janet Hall to write Leonard the next time he sees her. He sent the last five dollars he owed to Bob Garrison in California. He was very impressed by the Great Lakes Notre Dame game, it was the first game that he didn’t bet on Notre Dame.

Eddie also mentions a few girls he knows and that he is thinking of calling Nancy and Bobby to set up dates for him. He mentions delivering mail all day in the rain. In a post script Eddie says that he and Bobbie haven't made up, it is too complicated for a letter but he will tell Leonard all about it when he is home.
