Typed on stationery and signed as Lt . Cmmdr. in the US Naval Reserves sending a check to the March of Dimes (National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis) with money raised by his men. There is a long manuscript postscript beginning on p. 1 "Dear Doc" and continuing onto the verso. He says his men organized the fund raising without prompting as a birthday present to his father.
