Signed by Knowlton, Nesmith, and several other parties. Write to inform Knox that they have heard from Alexander Campbell that the inhabitants of Ducktrap, Maine, have joined together to oppose Knox's land ownership rights in the region. Wanted to clarify for Knox the position of the town of Northport on the subject. Several Northport citizens came to Knowlton, Nesmith, and the other authors (who are the town's assessors) to set up a meeting about Knox's ownership. Writes that because he was so deeply touched by Parker's recent letter, he wants to provide Parker with any information he has respecting Samuel Ely's group of insurgents in his region. Describes a town meeting about whether to support Ely. Relates how different towns in the region plan to handle Ely's claims that the residents own the towns and Knox does not. Includes a transcript of a resolution from Davistown (possibly present day Liberty, Maine).
