Title: to Michael Jackson
Reports to Brigadier General Michael Jackson concerning the state of clothing in the regiment. He finds the clothing "in a most distressing situation." A large number of the men are without items of clothing, such as shoes, stockings, etc. Writes that "many [of the men are] without shirts, their Coats Vest, and Breechis [sic] worn to rags; and the whole presents a Scene of distress which at this Season of the year fills my mind with such anxiety as I cannot discribe [sic]."
