Contains several letters. The first letter, to Mr. Pickering, is about Mr. [likely Christopher] Gore, who has delivered Pickering the letter. Gore has been appointed Commissioner of a body negotiating with Great Britain for captured Americans on British vessels (as part of Jay's Treaty). Explains Gore's character and political beliefs.
