Discusses removal of Native Americans, questions the constitutionality of the Bank, and decries corruption in governmental office. Suggests an amendment to keep close Presidential elections from being decided by Congress. Also covers foreign affairs, the tariff, finances, military and other domestic matters.

Letter written by Jackson as President, upset by the events surrounding the resignation of Major John H. Eaton as the Secretary of War. Jackson praises Eaton, as well as Martin Van Buren and Major William Berkeley Lewis for their loyalty. He attacks Vice President John C. Calhoun for what he sees as his plot to undue his administration in a "wicked depraved conspiracy," and regrets that he ever trusted Calhoun. Also attacks General Duff Green and his newspapers for being slanderous during this whole affair. The events referred to in this letter are all part of the notorious Petticoat Affair.…

Andrew Jackson writes to his wife that he has arrived in Washington, a day after Henry Clay made an inflammatory speech against him. However, he is confident, because he believes that "a very large majority" of Congress sides with him. He has also learned that Jefferson and Madison have written to Monroe in his favor, and that all three Presidents appear to support him. Congress was investigating Jackson for his conduct during the First Seminole War is 1818, when he pursued a group of Seminole Indians into Spanish Florida, upsetting a number of powerful foreign nations.

States that they "will now have good roads kept up & supplied by the industry of our own citizens, and our frontier defended by a strong population. Forwards a letter from Call (not included) in which he seeks authority to impose on "the border citizens," who suggested they will kill the Cherokee after the army leaves, a "speedy & examplory punishment if they should attempt to carry their threats into execution."
