Writes, "I received last post a number of papers from our mutual friend James Swan Esq. relative to an acct with a Mr. Campbell who fled from N York to this place, & was persued [sic] by a [Colo] McGregor & confin'd in this Goal, but is now in your City under Custody of the Sheriff from this City. I suppose he obtain'd this favor from Colo McGregor in order to bring his affairs to a settlement, its probable you may have heard Mr Swan speak of him.
