Discusses the contributions made by soldiers from Marblehead, Massachusetts in the American Revolution and the War of 1812. Emphasizes the War of 1812, commenting on service aboard the ship Constitution by men from Marblehead. Expresses pride in the contributions made by his hometown and seeks to have them recognized. Author possibly Joseph W. Green, Jr. (as listed in the 1850 census) and probably the son of Joseph W. Green, who kept a diary of his time as a privateer and POW during the War of 1812.

Describes a brief genealogy of the Goss and Twisden families. Comments on the contributions of men from Marblehead, Massachusetts, in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. Penciled in notes on page 3 reiterate the genealogy described. Author possibly Joseph W. Green, Jr. (as listed in the 1850 census) and probably the son of Joseph W. Green, who kept a diary of his time as a privateer and P.O.W during the War of 1812.
