Graham writes to assure Livingston of the passage of any danger which could have been incurred due to Livingston's dealings with Captain Kidd, and to advise that any of the moneys he had advanced for the victualling of the troops would be returned at the appropriate time, with patience being the proper way to look upon the situation at hand. Title: to Robert Livingston re: the death of Stephen van Cortlandt

Graham sends his condolences on the death of Stephen Van Cortlandt. He also discusses Livingston's suspension from being Collector of the Excise, which he considers to be "a paradox" when viewed with the same eye as reading of Bellomont's "Esteem" for Livingston. Graham also discusses the proposed match between John Livingston and Mary Winthrop, "I am apt to believe that the mariadge is as good as any N England mariadge." Title: to Robert Livingston re: Lord Bellomont's testimony before Parliament

Graham writes that Lord Bellomont had testified before Parliament for five days regarding the case of Captain William Kidd, and after having completed his testimony and being acquitted from any wrongdoings, Bellomont has issued orders that all pirates in the American colonies ("Maryland, Pennsilvania & the Jerseys") be transported to England. Title: to Robert Livingston re: news from England

Graham writes of the news he recently received from England. The King and Parliament are in accord, according to Graham, and England is willing to join Scotland on its colonial excursion. Merchants have continued their complaints against the Bellomont Administration, and Graham feels as though he has been forgotten by the Government, which would allow him to be "eased of my troublesom station in that government." Title: to Robert Livingston re: news from political scene at New York

Graham begins with consolation regarding the passing of Livingston's daughter. He continues by discussing a failed attempt by Gov. Fletcher to gain a commission for a Mr. Weaver, and yet mentions "My Lords interest continues very great at home." Furthermore, Graham discusses the case of Captain William Kidd, where Kidd's maid was forced to request some of the £ 8000 in gold owned by Kidd in the hands of a Capt. Clarke. Grahams tells Livingston that "if that [Kidd's fortune] could be secured, it might safe you of your bonds." Docketed on address leaf.

Title: to Robert Livingston re: Captain Kidd's case before Parliament

Graham writes to Livingston in a calming effort, stating "Banish all uneasiness from [your] bosom." Graham states that Kidd, although he would be tried, would not drag down the other investors in the Adventure Galley scheme, claiming that the factionalized Parliament would not destroy the reputations or fortunes of either Livingston or Bellomont.

Title: to Robert Livingston re: potential for a war with the Indians in New England

Graham was in New York "to attend the business of the supreme court." Taking the opportunity to forward the news of new Colonial Governor Hamilton's arrival in New York, Graham also writes of the troubles in New England: "Accordingly they are very apprehensive of an Indian warr in N England and have raised men which they have sent to the east ward for their security it is Conceived that our Indians are in Concert with them but that is a point must be tenderly managed."
