Title: Humanity's last appeal to the abolitionists of the United States, against the increase of slave territory
Urges Northerners to vote for the Whig ticket, and oppose the Democrats, who favor the annexation of Texas. Argues that annexation is planned only to increase slavery and the power of the slave states. Texas is large and suitable for slavery and thus annexing it "would encircle Africa with slave-ships, and under the stimulus of insatiable avarice, penetrate farther into the interior of the devoted country."
