At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

One pamphlet entitled, "O.P.M., Other People's Money, The Greatest American Racket," published by the Chemical Foundation dated 1931. Includes two essays by Garet Garret, "The Rescue of Germany," and "As Noble Lenders." There is a letter of introduction from the president of the Chemical Foundation stating that it is their duty to inform people of foreign debts. Inserted within the page is a blank form.
