Discusses a court case in which Samuel Shaw is defending himself against a Mr. Holker. Reports that the jury has been dismissed, having been unable to agree on a verdict. After polling the jury, Fullerton has found that eight of the jury members were in favor of awarding Mr. Holker $2300 with interest, and the other four were in favor of awarding Mr. Holker double that amount. Believes that Mr. Shaw does not stand a good chance of winning when a new trial is called, though Shaw's lawyers are still optimistic. Suggests it might be beneficial to remove it directly to the Supreme Court.…
