Appears to be written and signed by Franklin's brother Milton. Writes that he is happy yet sad that he received Franklin's letter from Nashville, Tennessee. He is surprised to hear that Franklin has not received his last letter as he mailed it before the Battle of Stone River. He has read the papers and reports of the Battle of Chickamauga carefully to see if there is any indication as to his "silence." He has asked anyone if they have heard news on him.
