Foster, William, fl. 1788-1789
Autograph letter signed
Title: to Henry Knox

Hopes Congress will decide in his favor, noting "...but I think- there may be some measure not big with evil consequences recommended whereby public Debtors may be eased so as to prevent finall [sic] ruin." Fears imprisonment and the loss of his property. Declares, "during the War I supported two good men in the Army & from 1777 to 1787 I paid upwards of five Thousand pounds dry Tax. besides allmost constant subscription money for six weeks & three months men..."
