Received his letter via Captain [Thomas] Vose, and is happy to hear that an "Establishment is making at the Fort and Block-House Farms." Has helped Vose set up a fence around the property, and also helped him explain to the people that they now have "an opportunity of discharging their Debts to him [Vose] as your Agent." Believes Vose to be "a Man of a good Disposition and Genius" and will help him in matters likely to promote Knox's interests. Informs Knox, "The time proposed, when you was at St Georges for giving Deeds to those persons who then agreed for their Lands, is sometime since elapsed..." States that some of the settlers have made considerable payments for the land, and they refuse to pay more until they receive their deeds. Encloses Samuel Watt's deed for land which was formerly part of the Flucker estate. Notes that some persons want to purchase lands, and settlers that are already on the land are desirous "of accommodating their matters."

David Fales, under authority of Henry Knox, Samuel Winslow, and Isaac Winslow, gives permission to William Burton "to occupy and improve a Lot of Land of fifty acres" (likely on the Waldo patent lands). Burton has agreed to pay Knox, Winslow and Winslow six shillings per acre, and they have provided him with a "Warrantee Deed."
