10 June 1871
Drum, Richard Coulter, 1825-1909
Autograph letter signed
Title: to Henry Jackson Hunt
Drum, who had served as an assistant adjutant Union general during the Civil War, writes to Hunt at Fort Adams, Newport, Rhode Island. Notes that Harney (possibly General William Selby Harney) "would get through notwithstanding his demerit." Recently remitted $150.00 to a General [C.?] (possibly General Samuel Cooper). Cannot persuade General George Gordon Meade to collect his account. Discusses matters pertaining to the military and War Department.
