Although at first reluctant to include her religious views in the Woodland Historical Document Collection, Day writes: "My religion is what I feel inside, and my own personal contact with my maker. I talk to God, but don't feel that I have to go to church to do that. I always try to live the Golden Rule, and that, to me, is religion." She asks Kohl's donation be given to the Doris Day Pet Foundation.
