Colcock, Cornelius Julius, 1845-1911
Autograph letter signed
Title: to Charles J. Hutson
Writes at the request Emmeline, Charlie's fiance and Cornelius' sister, who has (typhoid) fever. Discusses and inquires about various family members, both Charlie's siblings and his own. Comments on an upcoming election, supposing that George MacKay was elected. Mentions that cousin Abram is joining the Palmetto Guard as a "gentleman and an amateur." A message from William F. Colcock, Cornelius' father, is also written on the letter; he also comments on Emmeline's health. Emmeline died later that year.
