Comments on an upcoming election, supposing that George MacKay was elected. Mentions that cousin Abram is joining the Palmetto Guard as a "gentleman and an amateur." A message from William F. Colcock, Cornelius' father, is also written on the letter; he also comments on Emmeline's health. Emmeline died later that year.
