Title: to Henry Lee Scott

Written as a civilian in Springfield, Illinois, informing Colonel H. L. Scott that he had received an appointment as a lieutenant from President Lincoln, was accepting it, and was reporting to him for orders. Two bust engravings of Baker included as collateral.
