Anderson, commander of the District of Florida, writes to Bragg, now chief military advisor to President Davis. Anderson complains about the disorganization of his district and the difficulties of his job. Expresses surprise at the addition of 5,000-6,000 troops to the enemy force at Jacksonville, brought in his steamer and schooner. The enemy, centered at Jacksonville, numbers at least 15,000, he relates.
