Title: to Henry Knox
Writes that he received a very disappointing letter from his cousin, Isaac Winslow. Had decided to follow the plan Knox was kind enough to arrange for him, determined to go to Louisiana, and declined an opportunity at a school. However, the letter from Winslow suggested Knox might not be in favor of the plan after all, and Winslow suggested he go to New York to consult with several sponsors of the expedition.
