Writes to discuss a housing problem with Knox. Was told by Knox's agent, Mr. [John] Gleason, that he could rent a particular house for the year, and made arrangements to move there, giving up his current residence. Then discovered Knox had already let the house to someone else. Has been told that another house is available for rent, and hopes Knox will allow him to rent it, as he is now without accommodations, due to the misunderstanding.

Unsigned, but handwriting suggests the author is Henry Knox. Possibly incomplete. Discusses recent land sales he has made to a variety of individuals, such as a General Derby. Mentions his wife, Lucy Knox, as well as co-landowners General [Henry] Jackson and [Benjamin] Lincoln.

Discusses a land sale between Knox, General [Henry] Jackson and General [Benjamin] Lincoln on the one part, and a General Derby on the other. Declares that Jackson's and Lincoln's deeds have been executed, but Davis has found a discrepancy in the description of the land. Explains several errors he has found in the paperwork, and asks Knox to send a better description of the land he is selling.

Three notes of receipt. The first dated 16 June 1803 signed by Bradstreet Wiggins for $10. The second dated 18 July 1803, signed by Nathaniel Robinson for $44 and change on behalf of Wiggins. The last, written on the verso, is dated 23 December 1802 from Thomaston for $53. Signed by Knox, but the signature is struck.

Title: to Henry Knox

Reporting to Knox on their mission to calm the people living on his lands on the Waldo patent. State that they have told the settlers there that Knox intends them no hard, and while some are convinced, otheres are still suspicious, and others even threaten violence. Those leaving near Knox's lands also distrust his intentions. Informs Knox that many of these citizens had been told that Knox and his surveyors were looking to take their land. The last four pages are slightly smaller, and are sewn onto the front eight pages.

Possibly related to Dawes, the Boston architect and patriot. Account information pertains to 1771. Signed by Dawes on verso 26 February 1772, noting receipt of payment from Flucker. Flucker hired Dawes to complete various tasks, including chimney sweeping, whitewashing walls, and repairing stonework.
