Writes to his father that they have been constantly on the move and he has not had a chance to write. They have taken a circuitous route to flank the enemy and drive them out of the country. Discusses engagement at Bristoe Station the past week. Reports that they suffered but the enemy ran away and they captured many prisoners. Thinks the seat of the war has moved out west. Describes the war ravaged countryside around Manassas but comments that the few people still in residence are very hospitable to them.
