Docket may be in the hand of Henry Knox. Seems to agree to a proposal by which Mrs. Beaumez's children would be taken in to Knox's home temporarily. Discusses some of the financial details. Mentions the issue of her children's inheritance of some of the Waldo patent lands, as well as her receipt of a letter on the subject by Mr. [Christopher] Gore. Hopes he can do right by her children. Mentions the death of a Mr. Russell, as well as issues relating to Mrs. Beaumez traveling with her husband.

Indenture regarding a payment of $10 owed them by Benjamin Walker. First part states the terms and circumstances related to the indenture, signed by William Bingham, his wife and W. Jackson and Grubb as witnesses. Second part is a note of acknowledgement signed by Edward Shippen, a justice of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. The third part discusses the delivery of the indenture and its copies. Dated 15 March 1793 and signed by William Bingham and Richard Parker and John Vaughn as witnesses. All signatures appear to be written in another hand. Noted as a copy.

Introduces Rufus Davenport, a Boston merchant, to Washington. Writes that he, "like myriads of others, cannot die in peace, nor live with satisfaction, until they see you, who has done so much for them and for their Country!" Briefly discusses news regarding his estate in Maine and his family. Unaware of Washington's death on 14 December 1799, Knox closes the letter "I pray fervently that your days on earth may be days of felicity without clouds sickness or sorrow." Knox offers effusive praise for the late George Washington. He speaks of the gratitude all the people of the United States owe Washington. Knox responds to Cobb's complaints of ill spirits and advises him to be active and trust that his body knows how to heal itself. Leonard explains that "Mr. Knox is son to General Knox, who was one of our first military characters during the revolutionary war with England, and is now one of the most respectable men in the United States."

Bingham sees that Knox has "not as yet made a final arrangement with the Holders of your Notes, - but which I hope will be speedily terminated." Bingham is pleased to know that after Knox pays off his debts, Knox will enjoy a considerable income from his estate.
