Appears to be a land agreement involving Henry Knox, Samuel Winslow, and Isaac Winslow in Frankfort, Maine. Instructions are also given to Colonel Benjamin Shute for protecting the above mentioned names property rights. Two inserts are included.

Document is possibly in Henry Knox's handwriting. An agreement between the settlers in Frankfort, Maine and Henry Knox, Samuel Winslow, and Isaac Winslow (who are the heirs of Brigadier General Samuel Waldo). The settlers agree to accept Henry Knox, Samuel Winslow, and Isaac Winslow's proposition for purchasing lots of lands in Frankfort. The terms and conditions of the sale are also provided.

Appears to be two different agreements separated out as "Form No 1" and "Form No 2." Form 1 is a generic form with blanks filled in by Henry Knox, Samuel Winslow, and Isaac Winslow giving their permission for the occupation on a lot of land; name of occupier and amount of land are left blank. Form 2 is also a generic form with blanks that a subscriber (which is left blank) would sign agreeing to the terms of payment. The generic forms possibly could be intended for the use of George Ulmer, Henry Knox and Samuel and Isaac Winslow's land agent, when making agreements with the settlers.…

Document is signed by Henry Knox and various other people. A land agreement between Henry Knox and the inhabitants of Owls Head, Maine. Knox agrees to supply the inhabitants who agree to his terms with warranty deeds. The land is being sold for four shillings an acre or 2/3 of a dollar per acre. The document contains the full terms of the agreement along with details about surveying the land. Document appears to be a duplicate of GLC02437.09199.

Warning to those who have or wish to usurp land in the Waldo Patent that they will suffer the consequences of the law and also serves to notify those who have been "seduced by the temporary impunity of the above usurpers" that they too, could face prosecution as "surveyors or abettors [sic] in such nefarious designs." Noted as from Montpelier, which is the Knox home in Thomaston, Maine, located by the St. Georges River.
