Knox offers effusive praise for the late George Washington. He speaks of the gratitude all the people of the United States owe Washington. Knox responds to Cobb's complaints of ill spirits and advises him to be active and trust that his body knows how to heal itself. Knox says of Napoleon "Bouneparte!", "what a glorious fellow! how completely he has routed the monster anarchy and made democracy for the present." Letterpress copy.
