Scammon, Eliakim Parker, 1816-1894
Autograph note signed
Title: to G. M. Bascom
Colonel Scammon of the 23rd Ohio writes to the Assistant Adjutant General in Charleston, West Virginia. Reports that a Dr. Naughter is so ill that he doesn't feel he can detain him any longer. Mentions that he can only approve the leave of two other men if it is done at once. Only dated the 29th, year inferred from Scammon's rank as Colonel. Possibly a copy as there are cross-outs. Simple map sketched on verso.
