Published by David B. Moseley. Compares the people of ancient Israel to Americans. Argues that politics should be guided by religion. States that "men cannot govern themselves without the wholesome restraint of Christianity." Asserts that law has been slacking in the country and comments that " if laws can be executed in no other way, they must be enforced by the sword." He makes these remarks in reference to the punishment that he feels was deservedly given to Booth and the other Lincoln conspirators.
