Title: to Brother Livingston re: invitation to live among his brothers and sisters

Robert, Jr. writes that the recent deaths of both his mother and his eldest son Philip have been most difficult to endure, and he hopes that the familial bond between him and his brother remain in tact. He then invites his brother to come and live among all of their siblings, where he will have money, land, and a secure occupation. Robert, Jr. also states that his sons Walter and Peter are succeeding in their education.

William writes that he has enclosed a draft of a letter to Governor Pownel, and warns Robert Jr. that the Governor "is a man who would sacrifice any body to his own Interest, and cares for nobody any farther than he can make him subservient to his own ambition and Lust of Power." William believes that Governor Pownel will join the party of men intent upon challenging Robert, Jr.'s claim to the Manor of Livingston.

Nonetheless, he is a most respectable gentleman, and Gunn asks if Robert, Jr. would be so kind as to "introduce him to a school and divise some Means whereby he might be furnished with Necessarys to returne to his Friends or acquaintances."
