Also details procedures for dealing with deficiencies of supplies due to railroad service or other causes. Lists the men that should be counted for supplies (officers, men present for duty, sick, unarmed cooks, teamsters, etc.). States that "All other persons dependant on our supplies are useless mouths which we cannot afford to feed and should be sent north of Nashville." Written on printed stationary from the Military…

Title continues: "Able Mitchener Commander. Kept by William Pell, 1750." Log book. The ship made land at Block Island on 29 November 1750. On the verso of the first leaf of the log is the draft of a letter from Pell to James Gray of London in which he reports a pleasant voyage of twenty days from Rhode Island to London; this letter is dated 17 January 1750, but whether it is misdated or it refers to a previous voyage is unclear. Sewn.

Sir Francis Bernard was Royal Governor of the Province of Massachusetts Bay from 1760 to 1769. One bust engraving of Francis Bernard and one bust engraving of Thomas Hutchinson included.
