Title: Correspondence to George Nichols about finances [Decimalized .01-.15]
Hincks spells his name as Hinks until GLC03212.12 when he begins to sign it Hincks. It also appears on the stationery printed as Hincks on GLC03212.12 and .14. Includes five other envelopes that are addressed to Nichols but do not have corresponding letters, and one note requesting acknowledgement of receipt. Hincks was a Union General and Commander of Camp Lookout prison April - May 1864. He led a African American division in the Petersburg siege. He also served on court martial and recruiting duties intermittently. Nichols was a Cambridge, Massachusetts Commission merchant.
