Adams, John, 1735-1826
Autograph letter signed
Title: to Issac Monroe and Ebenezer French
Re: Treaty of Paris with Britain, 1783, and France 1800: Concluding a series of reminiscences for the Boston Patriot (1809-1812), he writes to the Publishers: "I have been insulted by Ignorance and Impudence on the account of these Treaties more than any other actions of my Life. I have no more to say at present...Witnesses to whom I intended to have appealed, have, even while I have been writing, a Dana, a Lincoln, a knox been summoned to an higher Trybunal."
