Title: [Affadavit]
Report regarding Samuel Waldo's difficult relations with the Iroquois Indians living near the lands he recently purchased in the Penobscot region. Says Captain John Gyles, commander of the Block House at St. George "insensed them by telling them, if they sate still and permitted...Mr. Waldo to proceed, he soon wou'd ruine their interest, and usurp all their land, and plant it with Irish...This [he added] strongly alarm'd the tribe..." Includes an attestation by Benjamin Larrabee, who signed as justice of the peace. Noted as written in Brunswick, Count of York [present-day Maine].
