Forrest, an ensign in the British Army, writes to London to say that in the list of the army of 1780, Ensigns Goodair and Kent have mistakenly been given rank over him. Hopes they will fix the mistake. Claims that recent personnel changes might make it of some consequence to him. His date of commission was December 22, 1777.

This committee is to sit "until the bussiness is perfect." Also requests "your attendance as a Member of this house, as also to discharge the duties in consequence of your appointment yesterday." Letter signed by Davis as the Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives.

Letter addressed to Hewins as "Treasurer of the Committee of Stoughtonham," today called Sharon, Massachusetts. A note, seemingly written later but in the same hand, states that the money should instead be sent to Levit Billings.

Burnet reminds Bowen that he must send the clothing supplies already requested, as they are badly needed by himself and General Nathanael Greene. Greene was Quartermaster General at the time of this letter. Ichabod Burnet was Greene's personal aide, and issued many of his supply orders. The recipient is listed in the text as "Colonel Bowen." This almost certainly refers to Ephriam Bowen, the Deputy Quartermaster-General of the Rhode Island Militia, since the letter refers to supplies coming from Providence, Rhode Island.

Letter written by Elderkin as Captain in 7th Connecticut Regiment to the Selectmen of Coventry, Connecticut. Requests the selectmen furnish John Bill and Samuel Bardain, two soldiers in his company, with guns, bayonets, cartridge boxes, and blankets. Wants them to be equipped according to the Act of the Governor and Council of Safety. On the second page, two identical notes written in the same hand in Coventry on April 15, 1777 state that they were supplied. Bardain and Bill each signed one of the notes. Receipt says to pay Captain Elderkin over 83 pounds for the various expenses to treat the illnesses in his company in Colonel Mott's regiment. Note on verso says the money was received on 15 April 1777 and is signed by Nathaniel Webb. Docket says the payment was audited on 1 September 1777 by J. Treadwell. Related to GLC01450.240.

Muster roll for of Captain Lemuel Clap's company in the Massachusetts Guard. Lists name, rank, and enlistment date of men in the regiment. Almost all the men enlisted 11 August, though some later. A third of the men in the company are named Clap. Andrew Brown signs as Commishioner of Musters. Captain Lemuel Clap and Lieutenant Aaron Bird swear to the document by signing. Signed before John Avery, who signs as justice of the peace. Also a list by rank of the number of men present and absent. Written in Dorchester, a neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts.

Allen informs Waterman of the return of "our Brother Capt Joseph Cashman." Says Mr. Cushing's child "the sicked child that ever I saw." News arrived from Newfoundland of the "Royal George" sinking in port, and 1,300 people dying. Around eight hundred people actually died when the ship sank in Spithead, England. Indians are reporting that the French have taken three British ships of the line. Refers to Allen as his "brother."
