A poster featuring advice for soldiers on not wasting food. The poster depicts a young soldier throwing out a full plate of food. It admonishes soldier to not take more at the mess then they can eat and encourages them to insist on getting the right portion when they get their food. A section of the poster reminds them that the "folks back home" are on rations and they should appreciate that by not throwing away the food. The poster also reads "'Food will win the War' True in 1918 - True Today!"

A record of votes and resolutions of the General Assembly. One interesting subject is a trial of Quaco a enslaved person who went before the assembly for his freedom. Quaco was enslaved by Mr. Honeyman of Newport who was deceased. A British officer claimed that Honeyman promised to sell him Quaco before his death when Newport was under British control. Quaco fled and sought protection from the state.

The document shows in detail the appropriation of the sum of 20,000 pounds towards the erection of school houses in the colonies and settlements to which the provisions of the act for the abolition of slavery apply. There is also a statement of the applications for aid that were not answered due to the 1835 grant being exhausted.
