Address to George Washington, Jean-Baptiste Donatien de Vimeur, comte de, Rochambeau, and D'Aboville. Lists guns and ammunitions by type supposing "New York the point of operation." Mostly in the hand of Samuel Shaw, who also signs for Knox; two paragraphs are in Knox's hand.

End tables," "one odd washstand," and "one Feather Bed." Overall, all fifteen items are tabulated to fetch $56.42. Scrawled in pencil on the reverse side is a list of items not included and also drawn by Archer such as "2 Water Bottles,"1 Red Cover," and "1 sugar bowl."

Numerous dated postage marks [1878/10/28] and two U.S. postage stamps [one 2 cents and one 3 cents].

Printed copy of Archer's parody of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" poem. In Archer's "The Night After Christmas," children all over the town had eaten sweets to such an extent that it made them all sick. Instead of hearing the clattering of hooves on the roof, the family is awoken by the moans and groans of the children: "O' Me! I'm so sick: I shall die of this pain; I'll never touch Santa Claus' candy again!"

Mentions receiving several "callers" but thought that most of the men were too conceited, happenings in St. Louis. There is much cross-writing on several of the pages.
