Appears to be a receipt for a cancelled bond for land in Hancock Country, Maine. Receipt shows James McCullison paid his note in full to Henry Knox for $545 plus interest for 100 acres owned by Knox.

Knox appears to be seeking help from the government for Joseph Jones and Benjamin Bartlett whose barns and goods were burnt down by the insurgents in Maine. Letter is possibly a draft.
