Writes to his wife, "dear friend and companion." Tells her that he received a short letter from James, possibly a neighbor or friend from home. Inquires about the letters he sent, one with ten dollars enclosed, the other with six dollars, and the one he sent to her brother. Comment that she should "keep your own secrets to your self...
