In regard to the (illegal) tea Rivington sent Knox to sell, Rivington comments: "I fancy you had much rather I had not sent an article so much out of your way of Business." If Knox has not sold it, Rivington instructs him to forward the tea and an enclosed letter to James Seagrove and Mr. Palfrey. Rivington will print it in New York "whilst it shall be quite new to our readers in this province." Rivington was a bookseller, printer, and journalist who came to America in 1760. He published Rivington's New-York Gazetteer.

Goldthwait, which Rivington hopes will "produce the balance due to me." Rivington was a bookseller, printer, and journalist who came to America in 1760. He published Rivington's New-York Gazetteer.

But since Knox has shown interest in selling them, Rivington will furnish him with such pamphlets. Rivington was a bookseller, printer, and journalist who came to America in 1760. All who do not join "will be deemed Enemies to the Glorious Cause of Liberty and america." Waldo asserts that he will appear without a doubt. Waldo had earlier asked Knox to obtain arms for him (see GLC02437.00190).

Indicates that Brickett, the Officer of the Day, made the usual rounds, found the sentries alert, and discovered nothing extraordinary. A note on the back lists some names, places, and numbers. Brickett was a Lieutenant Colonel in Col. James Frye's regiment of Minutemen. He fought at Bunker Hill and later during the Revolutionary War became a brigadier general.

Comments, "The Rebels Show themselves once in a While along the banks of the River but they all leave as soon as We give them a shot they Will not fight unless they have the advantage and then they fight like Bull Dogs and I whish that they were all in the Oven of the Eavel [evil] One and a good Fire under the Same." On patriotic stationery with the title "Onward." Featuring a young woman holding a flag and pointing forward. The woman wears a "flag" dress, has long flowing hair and is barefooted. The dates 1776 and 1861 appear on either side of the woman. Date inferred from content.
