Written by a member of the Jones family to Confederate Brigadier General and Quartermaster General Lawson. Says his brother-in-law Mr. Charles Moncine was expelled from his home near Rapidan Station, Culpepper County, Virginia and has recently rented a plantation in Cumberland County, Virginia. He cannot acquire hay to feed his horses and wants to know if he can exchange timothy grass for fodder with the quartermaster's department. Also says a Mrs. Thornton of Lexington, Kentucky wants to exchange 3500 pounds of fodder for a like amount of grass. Hopes the quartermaster's office can…
