Thinks Colonel Jackson can help with this, feels they are worth one hundred pounds, and hopes to sell them to a jockey named Cook.

Had hoped to go to a hospital in Brookline, where Doctor Gardner promised he would see her every day. But this hospital is now perhaps going to be used only to inoculate soldiers. Has just received her letter and assures her "my heart is yours although my Country demands my poor pittance to endevor to rescue her from barbarity." Feels this barbarity, exemplified by Indians slaughtering innocents, enslaved people killing their masters, and the general desolation caused by the Hessian mercenaries is all a result of British tyranny. Chastises the "boasted humanity of these people who calls themselves the mother Country!" Repeatedly expresses his love and longing for her. Book of records for Knox's artillery regiment. Contains inventories of artillery, notes regarding regimental activities and some daily entries. Samuel Shaw created the book, which dates between 12 January 1777 and 24 March 1777. The first page, probably the cover page, contains sketches, some appear to be of cannon. Page 2 is a list of the amount of ammunition delivered to various officers. List of payments made to Knox by the United States between November 1775 and January 1777. Includes dates payments were made, what they were for, how much they were for, and who actually gave the money to Knox. Figures include pay for Knox and his men as well as money for blankets during their expedition to retrieve cannon from Fort Ticonderoga during the winter of 1775-1776, pay and recruiting fees throughout 1776, and money to be distributed as a bounty in January 1777.
