Mentions General George McClellan's move to make the James River the base of his operations. Discusses the draft, writing "the recent call was made for troops when the Rebel General Jackson chased Banks, the Gov of Ohio determined to raise reserve Regiments in the State for three years, and it is one of them that Ben is appointed."
