Chaplain Francis P. Duffy conducts a service at the grave of Lt. Quentin Roosevelt, near Chamery, France. Lt. Roosevelt's plane was brought down back of the German lines, July 14, 1918. The American advance brought the spot within American lines a few days later. The Germans had marked the grave with a cross of boughs and an inscription upon a board from the wrecked plane: 'Lt. Roosevelt, American Aviator.'" Stamp of U.S. Committee on Public Information on reverse. A second stamp on back reads: "A.E.F. [American Expeditionary Forces] Passed as Censored."

Parker, the Lieutenant Colonel of the 4th New Hampshire Volunteer Infantry Regiment, writes to Colonel Vincent to relay a statement on the service of Eleazer L. Sarsons. Recounts Sarsons service, which included a time as a prisoner of war in Andersonville Prison, and his denied application for an appointment. Asks that Sergeant Sarsons be mustered back into a New Hampshire regiment as a 1st Lieutenant, asserting that "Sergeant Sarsons is a deserving soldier." States that he hopes to spend the winter in Paris and wonders if General Sherman can sit for him before he leaves. Expresses his pleasure about being asked to do a bust of General Sherman, "I should consider it a great privilege to be permitted to make a bust of him and am prepared to make a good many concessions to accomplish it."

In English and Hebrew. A song praising Montefiore for his work for the Jewish people. Also includes a quote from Proverbs. The song mentions Montefiore's travels to Morocco, which occurred in 1863, so the document could have been written any time between then and his death in 1885. However, the song does not mention a similar important journey to Romania in 1867, so it is possible that it was written between 1863 and 1867.
