He mentions that a water buffalo ran after them yesterday and that he ran "to the hills" in fear. He mentions an exchange of photographs in the mail and discusses details of a monetary issue. He wishes her a Happy Valentine's Day and sends her "anything but my Love Darling and you have it all Darling." He writes that he loves his "someday wife," and promises to write again at night.

One newspaper clipping printed by the Pacific Stars and Stripes newspaper dated February 4, 1970. Reports the marriage of S. Sgt. Dexter Hales and Phyllis Ann Sheets via ham-radio telephone. Sgt. Hales, a career soldier at Vung Tau, Vietnam, married Phyllis over the Military Affiliate Radio System-MARS. This clipping is mentioned in a letter as something he will be sending. A letter to Philip Schuyler telling him that there is a job overseeing carpenters and other mechanics at little falls. Schuyler asks for a response by letter care of Mr. Blecker. He also says that if he isn't there when Philip arrives he is probably at Still Water and Philip should travel there to talk over the arrangements.

A letter to Philip discussing a possible disease outbreak in New York. Cornwall says fear of another Yellow Fever epidemic, like that in Philadelphia is high. However, so far all cases of disease have been contained to the first infected person's neighborhood. He mentions that in his opinion "at present I seldom ever recollect its being more healthy at this season of the year than now."

A letter between siblings Catherine updated Philip J. on something she is sending him. She also mentions his cheese and that she has taken charge of. Their mother was afraid to trust it to Hamilton as, "The sloop he went down in, took fire as it lay at anchor in Haverstraw Bay." She writes they extinguished it and it made Nyack at 4 o'clock, only 25 hours later.

There is a note on the bottom that there is also 2 dollars for a Sulkey for 1801, and 3 dollars for a Coache for 1802.
