Also contains an attached receipt created by Knowles in Orangetown, New York, 19 August 1780. Knowles acknowledges receipt of a sum from Knox, paid by Captain Samuel Shaw. Knowles's receipt certifies that Knox's account is settled. Attached receipt measures 10.1 x 21.1 cm and includes docket.
