Discusses the recent departure of the "Duke" (likely the Duc du Liancourt), and how this affects his ability to continue financial transactions. Mentions making a contract with the government on lumber. Discusses a plan to build a brig of certain dimensions, to ship a variety of goods, and asks Jackson to acquire supplies for it, which he lists.
