He is spending time at his parents' house in Maryland and writes about his dinner and the family that surrounds him. After everyone leaves for the night, he is glad to have time to himself. He writes that he wants to go home and is excited that in one week's time he will be able to do so.

He describes his visit to Bernie's as depressing and although he loves his family, he is glad they do not live very close to them.
