James Brown is selling and conveying his shares in the captured ship "Ginney" (probably a prize of privateers) to Captain Ephrem Perkins. Document says "Ginney" was taken by the schooners "Boston Revenge" and "Generell Warde." Brown received 12 pounds, 12 shillings. Brown signed his mark with an "X." Witnessed by Adam Wellman, Samuel Stevens, and Benjamin Pinden. On verso, the shares are sold again. Co-signed by Secretary Bryan Bruin and countersigned by Morris Gibbons that he received the money. Dated without a year as 9 November. The year 1778 is inferred because Sullivan was named commander of Rhode Island in early 1778 until March 1779.

Written by Greene as Governor of Rhode Island to Compton as Town Sargent of Providence. Greene is informing Compton that he needs assistance in the movement of cannon requested by Major General John Sullivan on Rhode Island. Hopes he can arrange for "True friends to this Country" to assist in the effort of getting them aboard ships to send to Sullivan. Letter is badly faded at some points and some text loss has occurred. On verso, Compton has countersigned this request, stating he has warned the inhabitants of Providence. Asks for 18 shillings in fees. Greene then signs an order below…

Lists payments by "Joseph Ingresoll & Co." to various men. Each man signs attesting that he has recieved money from Ingersoll for various reasons. The payments include buying a number of ships at auction. The ships were the "sloop Bazil...Ship Elizabeth Snow Fly & sloop Marcia." The payments total near 30,000 pounds. Allens Quarters when requested to attend there by Capt. Allen."

An unknown person compiled statistics relative to Burgoyne's surrender to Gates after the Battle of Saratoga in 1777. The scrap of paper is dated in October 1781. Breaks down nationality of the captured soldiers, number of sick and wounded, types and number of artillery and small arms captured, etc. Also written on the sheet is a receipt for Daniel Epir to receive payment from Samuel Emory. On verso, in what appears to be an unrelated to the summary of captured troops, is a partial list of payments due to soldiers. They could be troops under Gates's command.

Written by Major General Ward as commander of the Eastern Department (he was succeeded by Major General William Heath in March 1777) to Ebenezer Hancock as Deputy Paymaster General of U.S. forces. Order to pay Thomas Urann, Director of the Carpenter, forty six pounds and ten shilling, equal to 155 dollars, which was October's pay for him and the carpenters under him. On verso is breakdown of the pay for the carpenters. Urann made 6 pounds as foreman and the 9 "artificers" under him made 4 pounds 10 shillings each. Countersigned to by Thomas Urann that he received the money.

Justice of the Peace Leonard orders the sheriff of Bristol to attach the goods and person of Jonah Simon. Simon had failed to reimburse Nicholas Moorey 35 shillings for care he rendered to Simon when Simon was sick. Written in the margin of the court order: "Jonah Simon Indian being called three times after eleven of the clock and not appearing, judgment was entered up against him upon default [illegible] payment of 35 s. money & cost of court."
