Autograph letter signed
Title: to Galloway Cheston
Writes to his uncle about Baltimore at the beginning of the Civil War. Asserts again that Maryland will not secede and discusses the politics of it. Feels that Jefferson Davis will be re-elected. Mentions that some dry good stores have sent goods to Winchester, Virginia, to try and find a southern market but no one knows if the goods reached their destination.
